Giftedness Support Center

(Highly) gifted students are not always identified by extremely good performance. Good coordination of education is therefore necessary to prevent them from becoming demotivated, developing inadequate skills, feeling like an outcast in the group or developing behavioral problems.

The goal of the Centre for Giftedness is to support schools in guiding gifted and highly gifted students in regular or special (primary) education. Central to this is matching the pedagogical guidance and didactic offerings to the educational and developmental needs of gifted and highly gifted students. Schools can contact the support center for questions at both the student and school levels. This guidance is as follows:

  • Pupil level: guidance is pupil-specific and short-term in nature, with the ultimate goal of increasing the school’s expertise so that appropriate education can be provided to the (highly) gifted students at school.
  • School level: guidance focuses on policy or the entire team. Consider thinking along about a school-wide offering, providing education or a desire to develop.
