About SPPOH

Samenwerkingsverband Passend Primair Onderwijs Haaglanden (SPPOH) supports schools in designing appropriate education in The Hague, Leidschendam-Voorburg and Rijswijk. Appropriate education means that every student receives education that fits his or her abilities and qualities. Since Aug. 1, 2014, the Appropriate Education Act has been in effect regulating this. According to this law, all children have the right to a good education, including those who need extra support. The law gives schools the responsibility to provide this.

The majority of students receive education at a regular elementary school within the
basic support
that each school provides. For some of the students more is needed, this is called
extra support

Extra support can take place at the regular elementary school or, if this is not appropriate for a pupil, at a school for special (primary) education.
