Conversation appropriate education
Over two years ago we started having conversations appropriate education: a conversation between the appropriate education advisor and at the board or care level about how the school is responding to their population. These conversations have evolved. In the first year, we made the move from child-level conversations to school-level conversations. This past school year, we discussed and collected the schools’ appropriate education goals using data and available resources for basic support.
Setting goals
This school year we will also be discussing the use of the basic support amount that each school receives, and the data available from SPPOH about the school. In the coming years, as described in our Support Plan, we are working toward ensuring that schools set annual goals about appropriate education and that schools link these goals to the resources made available.
